On July 31st, what would have been his actual 1st birthday, we were awoke by our dog Jack wanting to get into bed in the morning as usual. Only to have Sharon tell him to go back and lie down. I was puzzled I thought it had to be morning. She told me it was only 12:00. Huh? “It looks light out” I remarked. So I looked at my phone and it said 6 something.
“Weird, my clock on my phone is stopped at 12, everything else is working except the clock” She said. Then she turn it off and on and it was back to normal. We sat in somewhat disbelief but not all that much, as one year ago my phone’s clock had stopped on 5:50 exactly when I put his dollar bill tribute up at McGuires. Noah had once again gotten a message to us, we just wasn’t sure off it. We just assumed since that was the mark of the beginning of his birthday he just wanted to let us know he was with us.
Nothing else unusual happened, the day came and went. We grieved but we also tried to celebrate. That night we hung out with some friends and laughed as we had a good time in Noah’s honor.
In order for our friends and family to honor Noah with us by launching balloons from around the U.S. we chose to wait a day until Sat. Saturday before the launch was really tough, I struggled to stay positive but lost the battle a few times. I just miss him so much. It still does not seem real he will never be with us here on earth.
The time had come to launch the balloons. We chose to set them free at a spot on the beach where we hung out with family after his death last year. It was a great memory for us actually. Everyone was having a good time and enjoying being together as a family. So what better place to do it. The place is known as “The Cross” due to a large cross perched up on a tall sand dune there, it is well known with surfers for the good break there.
Just before we were to let them go, we were watching the time. It was almost 12. Then it hit us. Noah was probably telling us he would be with us at 12 to get his balloons when he stopped the clock the day before. We felt his presence right then. It uplifted our spirits. The balloons lifted into the air, each one carrying a note of love and birthday wishes tied to the strings. The wind was blowing just enough off-shore to take them high into the air drifting off over the water. We watched them until they disappeared into the clouds.
Not to leave Nora out of it, we did have one pink one for her. And her balloon somehow separated from Noah’s. While his stayed clumped and slowly rose, her balloon soared higher and faster. She was not to be outdone by her brother. Sibling rivalry I assume.
We finished with a nice lunch at Pegleg’s.
I felt at peace after the launch. I just knew he was there and would somehow get our notes. I would like to thank everyone else who launched a balloon in his honor. It means so much to us that you acknowledge our little angel.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOAH!!
On a side note. We had heard about a story of a woman who let balloons go for her lost child. She then got a reading from Allison Dubois, from whose life the TV show Medium is based on, and her child came through and told her that he got the messages on the balloons, and thank you. We had already decided to do a balloon launch before we heard the story, but that just made it seem more important to do.
Also in reading Allison’s book, we learned that electronics are a major way spirits communicate with us, because they are essentially energy and they can manipulate energy as well. Makes some of the things we have experienced better explained and adds validity to all.Another interesting footnote is the information a friend sent me on the significance of the number 12. “I have always held by the Biblical meaning-that is represents heavenly completion, or perfection. To that end, maybe there is an event that you are drawing towards the end of.”
