Well the time had come, we spoke with the doctor and told him we are ready if Nora is. He had no problem inducing as long as Nora’s lungs were fully developed which meant having an amniosynthesis. But we did have to wait also until two days later because he had his day off on 09-09-09. Which is when we had really hoped to be her birthday, but apparently she was destined for 9-11.
We did take the extra time to enjoy a nice dinner out as a couple at Tre Fratellis. I refer to it as the “last supper.” It was nice, but the dinner was tinged with an air of anxiety. We were just ready to get it done.
The time just dragged on until that appointment, and even longer once in the office. after 3 hours we finally were called back. Sharon handled the needle of the amnio like a champ! To me it looked like a large acupuncture needle. He drew out two viles of fluid. He liked the way they looked, however had to send them off to the lab to make sure. We headed home to await the results.
Two hours later we got the call, her lungs scored high marks, it was go time :)
